Hi all, I'm in charge of craft hour for a camp I'll be attending in a couple months. Now mind you, these are older people (18+). I want to make it something fun, and not too Kiddy.

Dear Ada has really been a great source of interesting artwork for me today, I have found so many things that I have absolutely loved...including this sculptural flower wall. This is definitely the kind of piece that I would want to find a wall for in my home..

I was reading the Dear Ada blog looking for some new inspirational artwork when I cam across this amazing photograph. First of all - can you believe its a photo?!?!?!! second of all...look how vivid and beautiful all of these colors are. this photo is sexy and gorgeous and just breathtaking.

Yay!! One of my favorite blogs Bloesem has started a new blog called Bloesem Kids (check it out at http://bkids.typepad.com/intro/). Anyway, one of the items that were profiled was this upside down tree mobile. I don't know that I would put this over my babies crib, but it is a beautiful piece of art, and I could definitely find a place for it in my home..

I am not usually a photography lover. While I am thankful that the creation of photography has inspired not only a whole new medium for art, but also pushed "traditional" artists to move beyond the portrait and really delve into their creativity, unless the photograph is really something special, I can usually pass.

Franck Juery's photographs fall into the "really something special" category. While all of his work is really interesting, its the work that involves tiny models mixed with everyday objects that really speaks to me.

I chose this photograph in particular, simply because I have always been enchanted with the idea of sculptures in books. I myself have made one - a sculpture of a city inside of an antique music book. (pictures to follow).

Fawn Fruits (David Lim) : 0047 Sweeter, Mixed Media

I just found out about artist David Lim (Fawn Fruits), and I quickly went to check out his website. I found some really great artwork there. Many of them are already sold, but some are still for sale...and well, the best thing about artists is that they always create something new! I particularly like this mixed media piece. The contrast between the deep and light colors, their vibrancy, not to mention the entire composition, and something in the girl's eyes really draws me to the piece.

Yes, this picture is odd. Very odd. But there is something about it - maybe the sheer surrealism of it, that makes it really really interesting to me.

This is one of many Kelly Rae Roberts prints that I love. I love the richness of the colors, the antique tea stained textures, the use of words and space, and most of all the emotion her figures evoke in the viewer. WOW.
